AT&T Develops Its CDN Business
AT&T first announced plans to bulk up its CDN services -- which it calls its Intelligent Content Distribution Service (ICDS) -- in December 2007, when group president of global business services Ron Spears said the carrier would commit $70 million to building out its content distribution capabilities.
Since then, the company has worked hard to add more global points of presence (POPs), as well as turn up new streaming capabilities and updating its customer portal and reporting tools.
