DENVER -- Software giant Wipro Technologies, the global IT services arm of Wipro Ltd (NYSE: WIT), has chosen Astracon Inc., the leading provider of high-performance service activation OSS solutions for IP and broadband networks, to provide an end-to-end IP-over-optical service fulfillment solution for a large-scale UK service provider. Wipro is the lead systems integrator on the project for the new UK operator with a $70M deal to build its national optical-fiber network and supporting Operations Support Systems (OSSs). Wipro will integrate both the hardware and software requirements for this large-scale deployment and the project will see full network build-out and activation of an IP-over-optical network that will be launched throughout the UK.
