Japan Quake Hits Mobile Access

9:20 AM -- Mobile service disruption has been reported by all three of Japan's main mobile operators following the devastating earthquake that hit north-east Japan Friday, reports Business Week.

Securing a mobile connection has been difficult in some of the worst affected areas not only because of damage to network infrastructure caused by the earthquake and resulting tsunami, but also because of network saturation as millions of people attempt to contact family and friends.
