Aruba Loses CFO, VP

The executive shuffle at enterprise wireless LAN startup Aruba Wireless Networks has continued with the departure of its CFO and VP of worldwide channels.Financial head Duston M. Williams has quit Aruba to take up the same position at storage vendor Maxtor Corp. (NYSE: MXO). (See Maxtor Names Another CFO.) Williams starts work at Maxtor this Friday (December 3).

Meanwhile Keith Hoskison, VP of worldwide channels, has also left the company.

Aruba’s communications director, David Callisch, is playing down the loss. In email notes to Unstrung, Callisch claims that Hoskison "has left due to strictly family and style of life issues," whilst Williams "is moving on to Maxtor as part of an entirely new executive management team being assembled to rebuild the company’s position in the storage industry.

“Having worked at Western Digital, it is the picture perfect opportunity for Duston because it’s a publicly-held company in need of a CFO that brings youth and fiscal integrity."

Callisch adds that Aruba is now searching for a replacement as the company gears up for an eventual IPO. “Because of the opportunity for Aruba in the public equity markets, our attention is now on bringing in a CFO with strong experience in taking a company to Wall Street. Given the momentum within the wireless and security markets and Aruba’s current trajectory, this shouldn’t be hard. But picking the right person will be our major focus."

The moves are the latest high-level departures at Aruba. Last month Walter Foss, central regional manager and investor in the startup, found the exit door (see Aruba's Foss Loss). Earlier this year co-founder and former CEO, Pankaj Manglik, quit to start his own venture (see Aruba Founder Switches Off).
