How traffic classification and inspection support networking and security solutions today, and how it will do so tomorrow as encryption usage and standards evolve.
As 5G continues to evolve, so do the plethora of new use cases that unveil additional dimensions of capability in terms of higher bandwidth, lower latency, and efficient scalability. While these create new opportunities and innovations, the way design and manufacturing engineers verify their products and test procedures must also keep pace with the new challenges these capabilities bring to an already complex 5G ecosystem.
This white paper makes a case for operators to consider a multi-vendor 5G core deployment and cites the 3GPP service-based architecture (SBA) and cloud-native infrastructure as key technology enablers.
In 2Q21, Heavy Reading surveyed 86 communications service providers (CSPs) across global regions about their plans for customer premises equipment overall and universal CPE (uCPE) specifically. This report presents the highlights of that survey. The respondent pool showed a more lively than anticipated adoption of uCPE with 59% of US; 61% of Asia Pacific (APAC); and 39% of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) respondents already deploying uCPE.
See what Heavy Reading analysts discovered when they conducted research on digital service provider best practices and key considerations for building secure, fast 5G and edge computing networks.
This report highlights the results of our 2021 survey, comparing and contrasting them with the results from our 2019 survey.
