- Turner Sports is launching a free iPhone app that will allow users to watch live video from weekly PGA Tour competitions. Turner previously charged $1.99 for an app for the PGA Championship, but this time its goal is "to expand our reach as far as possible."
- RealNetworks is also planning to launch an iPhone app, but this one may be more controversial. Its "Rhapsody To Go" app -- which would allow subscribers of its Rhapsody music service to search for and listen to any of the company's 8 million songs on their iPhones or iPod Touches -- could compete with Apple's iTunes.
- Of course, this comes at a time when Apple's app approval process is being scrutinized by the FCC, after the company recently rejected -- or "is continuing to study," depending on whom you believe -- the Google Voice app.
