Anything but Utah!

1:15 PM -- Illinois's Western Courier (free registration required, I'm afraid) reports on the plight of a recalcitrant evacuee who, after several failed attempts, managed to "escape" from the Superdome and return home, only to face evacuation again:

"Tuesday, I made a couple of breaks but they brought me back," he said. "I finally escaped Thursday."

His house is livable, O'Donoghue insisted, and "once you put yourself in the hands of the government, you could end up in Utah."

Even in the midst of disaster, Southerners have their standards.

You must admit, the guy has a point. If it came down to it, wouldn't you rather die of typhus than move to Salt Lake City?
