CHICAGO -- SUPERCOMM kicked off early this morning with a slate of keynotes from some of the world's leading telecommunications and broadband companies including AT&T, BT Innovate & Design, CenturyLink, Qwest Communications, Sprint, TiVo, and Verizon. With a focus on broadband innovation, investment, delivery and policy, Verizon Communications CEO and Chairman Ivan Seidenberg's speech set the tone for the three-day conference being held in Chicago this week.

"With a focus on broadband-enabling technologies and services, the companies exhibiting and attending SUPERCOMM have a major impact on the economy," said Jan Maciejewski, managing director, SUPERCOMM. "The staggering statistics of how broadband investments stimulate employment rates and job creation underscores the importance of this show as a forum for companies to network, develop business opportunities and continue to contribute to broadband life through innovation."
