SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- ANDA Networks, the leader in carrier-class solutions for fiber and copper-based access networks, announced today the EtherDAX(TM) 6000, a new central office Ethernet aggregation and transport product designed to handle large-scale Ethernet service delivery requirements for leading carriers. Addressing the rapidly expanding metro Ethernet market, the recent 2005 SUPERQuest Award-winning EtherDAX 6000 allows massive aggregation and cross connect of a larger number of EtherReach devices to support and centrally manage thousands of subscribers from a single device in the central office, thereby saving significant operating costs.

The new product from ANDA also supports large-scale migration of legacy network traffic from frame relay into Ethernet, which enables tens of millions of existing frame relay or T1/E1 circuits supported by routers to be quickly and cost-effectively migrated to next generation Ethernet services. ANDA delivers a low-cost, feature-rich alternative to deploying expensive service edge routers, Ethernet switches or MSPPs by using ANDA's market share-leading circuit bonding technology to efficiently aggregate and cross connect to a MPLS based switch/router or any of the nearly three million traditional SONET/SDH ADMs deployed worldwide.

"We are enabling a growing number of leading service providers to keep alive existing investments in routers and communications infrastructure while taking advantage of the rising demand for metro Ethernet," said Greg Gum, vice president of marketing and business development at ANDA Networks. "Customers can now leverage existing SONET/SDH investments and use TDM infrastructure to provide Ethernet services on a large scale, with massive scaling of capacity in a familiar Ethernet format."
