Altera opens sales office in Osaka, Japan

TOKYO -- Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) today announced the opening of a new sales office in Osaka, Japan to strengthen customer support throughout the western region of the country. Altera’s westward expansion will solidify the company’s position as Japan’s number one supplier of programmable logic devices by increasing its attention on the Japanese digital consumer market.

“We anticipate that 30 percent of our business in Japan will be generated from the western portion of the country,” said Hiro Higuma, president of Altera Japan. “The Osaka office will allow us to increase our accessibility to customers as we expand Altera’s presence, while strengthening our support of existing customers.”
