Infonetics says ADVA captured 26% of the EMEA market for metro WDM transport and switches (up from 13% last year) to grab the #1 spot

MARTINSRIED/MUNICH, Germany and MAHWAH, N.J. -- ADVA Optical Networking (FSE: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, today announced that it has achieved the #1 position in the metro Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) transport and switch market for the European, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region in the fourth quarter 2002, according to a recently-published market share report by international market research firm Infonetics Research. The firm's analysis shows that ADVA captured 26% of the EMEA market in the fourth quarter 2002 to be the #1 ranked vendor. ADVA garnered of the entire worldwide market in both the fourth quarter and full-year 2002, making it the #2 vendor of metro WDM optical networking solutions.
