MARTINSRIED/MUNICH, Germany and MAHWAH, N.J. -- ADVA Optical Networking (FSE: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, today announced that Inrange Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: INRG - News), a leading provider of high-availability, enterprise connectivity and storage networking solutions, has qualified ADVA's Fiber Service Platform (FSP) systems with INRANGE's complete line of IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) Fibre Channel Directors in INRANGE's Interoperability Initiative (I3) Lab, based in Lumberton, New Jersey.

Based upon a mutually-agreed test plan, new FSP features including 2:1 Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) functionality and 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel card were qualified with the 64-, 128-, and 256-port models of the FC/9000. Given the increasing deployment of storage solutions by carriers and enterprises worldwide, this comprehensive interoperability testing provides customers with a high level of assurance for transportation of their mission-critical applications. ADVA's FSP systems employ parallel use of Coarse/Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (C/DWDM) and TDM technology to enable up to 256 applications to be transported over one single fiber pair. Their robust character and ability to transport all protocols between 8Mbit/s and 10Gbit/s make the FSP an ideal solution particularly for large-scale, high-bandwidth storage networks. Since 1995, INRANGE has been partnering with ADVA to provide interoperable solutions that enable customers to benefit from secure, reliable data access across the network. As an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) partner, INRANGE sells and supports the FSP products under the IN-VSN(TM) Spectrum label. With the industry's highest port capacity at 256-ports, INRANGE's FC/9000 Fibre Channel Director provides users with a fully-redundant, non-blocked switching core on which enterprises can simply manage and expand their storage networks. "The qualification of the FSP products with INRANGE's FC/9000 supports our continued efforts to deploy seamless storage networks with guaranteed high levels of assurance for our customers," commented Brian P. McCann, Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at ADVA Optical Networking. "I3 interoperability testing assures customers that ADVA's Fiber Service Platform is fully interoperable with INRANGE's FC/9000, enabling customers to extend their storage networks across the enterprise and benefit from reliable and economical data availability," stated Dale A. Lafferty, Vice President of Marketing and Alliances at INRANGE Technologies. "INRANGE is committed to provide our customers with open interoperable storage networking solutions that enable the seamless integration of newer technologies such as 2 Gigabit Fibre Channel."
