Adtran promotes Dr. Kevin W. Schneider to chief technology officer

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- ADTRAN(TM), Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN), has announced that Dr. Kevin W. Schneider has been named Chief Technology Officer. In this position, Dr. Schneider will continue his responsibility for ADTRAN's advanced technology programs, covering all aspects of technology identification and definition, standards committee representation and new technology applications.

"Kevin has an impressive record of achievement in developing technology applications which directly address customer needs. With his leadership, ADTRAN's advanced technology staff will continue to provide the strong technological direction that will allow ADTRAN to remain a leader in the markets we serve," said Mark Smith, ADTRAN Chairman and CEO.

Dr. Schneider joined ADTRAN in 1992 and has over 10 years experience in telecommunications equipment technology development. He has served on numerous standards committees including Committee T1's DSL Transmission Working Group and the Wireline Spectral Integrity Focus Group of FCC chartered NRIC V. He is a member of IEEE, has authored a number of technology journal articles, and is an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Schneider holds a Ph.D., Masters Degree, and Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
