MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT - news, www.adc.com - news), a leading global supplier of fiber optics, network equipment, software and integration services for broadband, multiservice networks, today announced a $16 million contract for supplying GVT Brazil with a complete broadband access bundled solution for connecting subscribers in the southern and central regions of Brazil. The solution offered by ADC is based on the BroadAccess Multiservice Access Platform, and delivers narrowband and broadband services ranging from POTS to ADSL. The services are carried over SDH fiber rings to the local exchange (via V5.2 interface) and to the ATM backbone, enabling the provisioning of broadband services to remotely located subscribers. The solution also includes ADC's Avidia system, an integrated DSL access switch/DSLAM, for supplying a mix of DSL services to places with an intensive need for broadband services, and ADC's BroadWire(TM) ADSL splitter, the highest density splitter platform in the industry.
