John R. Peeler has been chosen president of Acterna Corp. by the board of directors

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Acterna Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTR) announced today that John R. Peeler has been elected president by the board of directors. He retains his role as president and CEO of the company's communications test and management business. The position of president was held by Ned C. Lautenbach who remains chairman and CEO of Acterna Corporation. "This change reflects John's exceptional leadership of our communications test and management business, which now represents more than 90 percent of Acterna Corporation's annual revenue," Lautenbach said. "Under his direction, and in less than one year, Acterna became the second largest provider of communications test and management equipment, systems, software and services, with revenues of more than $1 billion." Peeler joined the company's TTC (Telecommunications Techniques Corp.) subsidiary in 1980. Through the next 12 years, he was promoted numerous times to senior and executive management positions in engineering, marketing and operations until being named TTC's president and CEO in 1992. TTC was renamed Acterna following the company's merger with Wavetek Wandel Goltermann in 2000.Acterna Corp.
