SAN JOSE, Calif. -- 2Wire, Inc., a provider of broadband service platforms for the DSL market, today announced the appointment of Hunt Norment to the position of vice president of business development. Mr. Norment, formerly vice president of business development for BroadJump, Inc. (subsequently purchased by Motive, Inc.), will lead the expansion of 2Wire's backend Component Management System (CMS) business.

In addition to managing 2Wire's growing CMS business, Mr. Norment will focus on engaging with 2Wire partners, developing new partnerships, and encouraging technologies that will further enable best-of-breed broadband services. Mr. Norment will also pilot the introduction of new CMS functionality to enable development of new services for intelligent managed devices and will drive the development of services within the TR-069 framework, ensuring that DSL providers can deploy a variety of data, voice, and media service offerings.

"Given the increasing level of interest in our backend management system and triple-play offering, it is critical that we appoint an executive-level champion with the expertise necessary to drive and manage the relationships and integration programs ahead," said Brian Hinman, president and CEO of 2Wire. "Hunt's extensive experience in selling carrier-grade management systems for broadband and video services will be integral to the continuing expansion of our business."
