Telus Checks Out Huawei's HSPA Microcell

Telus and Huawei joint innovation boosts HSPA capacity for Telus subscribers

MARKHAM, Canada -- Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, and TELUS, today announced the first global HSPA Microcell commercial deployment. Working in conjunction with existing HSPA Macro Cells in Red Deer Alberta, the initial deployment is designed to assess the additional capacity and network performance provided when deployed at street level in a downtown urban setting. This solution stems from engineering Research and Development conducted through the Joint Innovation Centre that TELUS established with Huawei last year.
