SHENZHEN, China -- ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced it has signed a contract with the MTN Nigeria to build GSM/UMTS networks in Nigeria.
As part of the agreement, ZTE will help MTN Nigeria modernize and expand its mobile network in two of the country’s most economically developed regions (including 8 states) by providing its innovative SDR-based Uni-RAN solution. The ZTE Uni-RAN solution is an industry leading solution that meets primary needs while cutting-down total cost of ownership and protecting customer’s investment for the future technologies. MTN decided to choose ZTE as its supplier for its most important operating company. Based on analysis, network operating expenses can be reduced by more than 50 per cent and the total cost of ownership saving over 7 years will be reach 40 per cent after modernization.
