BARCELONA -- Huawei, the world's leading information and communication solutions provider, today launched an end-to-end TDFi solution at 2012 LTE World Summit. With TDFi, end users can access LTE TDD networks with any WiFi-enabled devices to enjoy high-speed mobile data services.
The advent of mobile broadband has seen the demand for high-speed data services rapidly increase. But while LTE TDD commercialization has been steadily progressing, availability of compatible devices has been lagging. To reduce the threshold for LTE TDD network access, Huawei's innovative TDFi solution instantly makes WiFi users LTE TDD users. This enhances LTE TDD network resource utilization, and accelerates existing network data distribution in hotspot areas. TDFi will also help operators attract more users and improve network visibility to maximize profits.
Traditional WiFi networks utilize wired transmissions, which causes a lack of transmission resources and a lengthy deployment process. The TDFi solution adopts LTE TDD wireless backhaul instead of wired backhaul to solve the last-mile problem of WLAN deployment. Compared to traditional WiFi networks, the TDFi solution helps operators achieve rapid, low-cost deployment and supports WiFi user authentication and billing.
