HAMBURG, Germany -- The Hamburg-based company 4GSystems GmbH, manufacturer of HSDPA/HSUPA mobile terminal equipment, is expanding its product portfolio with the new USB Modem XSPlug(R)P5. It is equipped with ultra-fast 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA technology, which allows download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbit/s in connection with the available mobile network, as well as GPRS/EDGE for worldwide use in all mobile networks. In addition, the XSPlug(R)P5 is also equipped with category 4 HSUPA technology and provides up to 2.0 Mbit/s in uplink (compared to 128 Kbit/s with DSL). The USB modem is presented as the smallest in the world, with an attractive design and dimensions of 41x78x12mm.
In addition to the integrated antennas, the XSPlug(R) family P3 and P5 can likewise be installed onto desktops and notebooks with an external antenna, which makes it ultra-flexible. The integrated plug and play software for Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Apple Mac OS X is already prepared for the next Apple operating system, Leopard. The installation of the driver and software occurs automatically and lets the user surf the internet right away. Additional features such as quick links for email, the Web and sending and receiving text messages are accompanied by standards like an Outlook-compatible address book. The operation and manipulation sets a new milestone with respect to user friendliness.
"With cutting-edge 'made in Germany' technology and sophisticated design, 4G Systems is clearly a world leader in innovation," says Enrico Just, CEO of 4G Systems GmbH.
