It has been an interesting year for Light Reading's corps of highly trained, battle-worn photojournalists. (Ed. note: That "corps" being one color-blind editor with hands shakier than a Trent Lott apology.)
As difficult as it is to believe, Light Reading's news photography was once again snubbed by the Pulitzer Prize committee this year. We feel they were too dismissive with their contention that the only photos we run are snapshots of pickled partiers who look like they stepped out of a Docker's catalogue and into a sports bar.
Fine. Whatever. We can deal with the setbacks. Look how long it took everyone to appreciate Anna Nicole's greatness.
Anyway, that kind of rejection won't stop us from sharing what we believe to be our top ten photos for 2002. For this top prize, the only criterion was that the photo had to be at least mildly amusing, if not interesting to look at.
