100 Best Beers?

10:15 AM -- Boston-based Beer Advocate has published its list of "the world's best beers."

The list is suspiciously heavy with American brews, particularly those with comical names: Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale, Mo' Betta Bretta, Gumballhead, ad nauseum.

Guinness Special Export Stout managed to sneak in at #58. Undoubtedly it would have finished higher had Guinness only thought to call it Mr McLeprechaun's Peat Bog Barleywine.

The Beer Advocate is a blatant ripoff of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Parker is partial to wines produced by those Cheese-eating Surrender Monkeys (apologies to Bart Simpson). Any relation, Larry?

re: 100 Best Beers? No French relations, though I'm fond of cheese. Nothing goes better with Guinness than a hearty wedge of Venezuelan Beaver Cheese.

re: 100 Best Beers? No such list is complete without Fox's Knob, sampled only recently by some of Light Reading's London-based staff. To say that it slipped down nicely would be a gross understatement...

For some other tasty little tipples worth checking out just because of the name, check out this list...
