Xtera launches XteraLink for small and medium enterprises

DALLAS and TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Xtera Communications Inc. (Xtera), a leading global provider of Optical and WAN networking solutions, today announced the launch of the XteraLink 300. This new, commercially available product line brings advanced networking solutions to branch offices, home offices, medium size businesses, apartments, hotels, and other multi-tenant buildings. XteraLink is designed to enable businesses to optimize network efficiency by maximizing ROI on existing infrastructure, improving network reliability and enhancing user experience.

XteraLink is an edge server appliance deployed on the border between enterprise intranets (LANs) and the Internet (WAN). It cost-effectively bonds multiple WAN links into virtual pipes to deliver bandwidth aggregation and WAN fault tolerance. With a maximum throughput of 300Mbps, XteraLink has 3 WAN, 1 LAN and 1 DMZ links, and a USB port for 3G cellular data cards. XteraLink comes with a built-in firewall that includes DoS, DDoS and connection limits. Other important features include outbound load balancing (Auto Routing), NAT and virtual servers.
