Where's Metrica Going?

ADC Telecommunications Inc. (Nasdaq: ADCT) is still planning to sell its Metrica OSS business before the end of the month, and its performance management rival WatchMark-Comnitel is the favorite to pick up the business.

Having already sold its billing business, ADC wants to divest its Metrica arm before the end of its financial year, which closes this month, says a spokeswoman (see Intec Buys ADC Billing Unit and ADC Close to OSS Sale). However, she says it is company policy not to comment on any potential deals, only those that are signed and sealed.

Officially, the folk at WatchMark-Comnitel (WC), one of ADC's main rivals in the mobile network performance management market, say they can't comment on any speculation that a deal is imminent, or even confirm whether their executives visited Metrica's offices recently in advance of a deal, as has been suggested.

However, a WC spokeswoman says there is some M&A activity ongoing, but no further details are available at present.
