In this webinar with Light Reading, Radware will discuss how service providers and cloud companies can radically redefine their DDoS attack protection schemes in an NFV architecture by offering a lightweight, agile behavioral DoS detection algorithm that can be deployed in various network devices. This enables detection of application and network-based attacks in real time anywhere in the network to be deployed in an agile and flexible consumption-based model. This model could then be provisioned and deployed as a service on demand in applications such as IoT, business services and 5G network slicing. In combination with Radware’s SDN application, Defenseflow, thousands of virtual detection points can feed into a programmable policy-based controller that can make best-case mitigation decisions, eliminating the burden of manual decision making from network security operations staff.

Louis Scialabba is responsible for leading network security and application delivery marketing initiatives for wireless, wireline and cloud service providers. He has 21 years of career experience in the communications and networking industry in a variety of roles, including solutions marketing, sales, business development, product line management and engineering. Prior to Radware, Scialabba was Head of North America Marketing at Aviat Networks, a leading packet microwave supplier. He spent the majority of his early career at Tellabs in various leadership roles for mobile routing, managed access, cable telephony and digital cross-connect business units.

Understanding the full experience of women in technology requires starting at the collegiate level (or sooner) and studying the technologies women are involved with, company cultures they're part of and personal experiences of individuals.

During this WiC radio show, we will talk with Nicole Engelbert, the director of Research & Analysis for Ovum Technology and a 23-year telecom industry veteran, about her experiences and perspectives on women in tech. Engelbert covers infrastructure, applications and industries for Ovum, but she is also involved in the research firm's higher education team and has helped colleges and universities globally leverage technology as a strategy for improving recruitment, retention and graduation performance.

She will share her unique insight into the collegiate level, where women pursuing engineering and STEM-related degrees is dwindling. Engelbert will also reveal new, original Ovum research on the topics of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, security and augmented reality, as well as discuss what each of those technologies might mean for women in our field.
