The FDD and TDD LTE networks are converging for the upcoming 5G era. Although many operators have deployed TDD and FDD networks in different kinds of topologies and configurations, the key to convergence is the carrier aggregation between TDD and FDD. This webinar will provide details on different topologies and carrier aggregation current progress. Shared spectrum trends and the latest advancements will be covered with special focus given to US 3.5GHz CBRS band spectrum and how 3.5GHz global interest is further fueling the convergence of the network to deliver high-capacity, high-throughput, and spectral efficiency. In addition, the 5G-like experience from 3D Beamforming using Massive MIMO antennas in the TDD spectrum will be highlighted – a low-hanging fruit for many operators for 3x capacity and high throughput. TD-LTE is playing an important role for the next milestone of 1Gbit/s throughput. Investment using Nokia 4.5G Pro TD-LTE will help to deliver 1 Gbit/s and pave the path for 5G.

Ashish Dayama, Head of MulteFire and TD-LTE Marketing, Nokia
As the Head of TD-LTE and MulteFire marketing for Nokia’s mobile broadband portfolio, Ashish Dayama is responsible for global MulteFire and TD-LTE product marketing, strategy, and content development. He is vice chair for the MulteFire Alliance Marketing Working Group and the Nokia Marketing point of contact for CBRS Alliance and The Wireless Innovation Forum’s Spectrum Sharing Committee.

Ashish has strong marketing, business development and professional services experience. He has created 100-plus architectures using various wireless technologies and has been an end-to-end system integrator for nationwide wireless data networks. Prior to joining Nokia, Ashish held several management positions at Motorola and Alcatel-Lucent.

For over 25 years Chris Janson has helped companies develop and deliver solutions in the fiber optics, microwave, telecommunications and defense sectors. In his current role with Nokia, he follows trends in optical networking technology and their application to finance, healthcare, utilities, government and educational customers. Chris has been a speaker at many conferences including Interop 2014, Internet2 annual technology meetings, and a 2015 series of executive forums sponsored by CenturyLink and CIO magazine. He has also shared his work through many webinars, written publications, on-line videos and articles. Understanding the full experience of women in technology requires starting at the collegiate level (or sooner) and studying the technologies women are involved with, company cultures they're part of and personal experiences of individuals.

During this WiC radio show, we will talk with Nicole Engelbert, the director of Research & Analysis for Ovum Technology and a 23-year telecom industry veteran, about her experiences and perspectives on women in tech. Engelbert covers infrastructure, applications and industries for Ovum, but she is also involved in the research firm's higher education team and has helped colleges and universities globally leverage technology as a strategy for improving recruitment, retention and graduation performance.

She will share her unique insight into the collegiate level, where women pursuing engineering and STEM-related degrees is dwindling. Engelbert will also reveal new, original Ovum research on the topics of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, security and augmented reality, as well as discuss what each of those technologies might mean for women in our field.
