Overview:
IP has already radically transformed the wireline networks of today, based on a number of evolutionary steps over the last decade. The vision – a converged, all-IP, multiservice infrastructure. But what of the mobile operators? Data services have played their part in their revenue streams and have driven the need for IP capabilities to be incorporated into their otherwise voice-centric networks. Will that approach suffice for the next 5 to 10 years? Many think not.
