ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Sling TV today launched its Android TV application for Google’s Nexus Player, available for immediate download in the Google Play Store. Sling TV and Google are kicking off their collaboration with a promotion that gets Nexus Player into the hands of customers at half price. Starting today, new customers can purchase a Nexus Player at a 50 percent discount when they pre-pay for three months of Sling TV. Alternatively, customers can choose to sample Sling TV on their Nexus Player for seven days at no cost.

With this release, Nexus Player and other devices on the Android TV platform expand Sling TV’s device portfolio by joining Roku, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, Android and iOS devices, Macs and PCs. Sling TV continues to be available across more platforms than any competitive offering.

“We’re committed to making Sling TV available on the most popular devices consumers use to stream live and on-demand entertainment,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. “Today, we again bolstered our device footprint by expanding to Nexus Player’s Android TV platform, and we expect this partnership to deliver additional convenience for both new and existing Sling TV customers.”
