GENEVA -- ADB, a leading provider of advanced solutions for connected homes and connected lives, today announced the next multi-screen product deployment. Norway’s Canal Digital Kabel-TV has gone live with ADB Multi-screen running on the ADB Wideband Tuner, an eight-tuner, hybrid cable HD DVR.

ADB Multi-Screen is a software suite that blends broadcast and broadband delivery with home network content redistribution for an enhanced user experience across multiple screens at home and on the move. Multi-screen extends the TV experience to work across multiple devices, giving the subscribers a choice of how they want to interact with their TV content. This solution takes advantage of the new electronic devices in the consumer's home – e.g. mobile devices, smartphones and tablets - to enrich the TV experience. For anyone who has used ADB Multi-room, this is a natural extension. Thanks to the ADB Multi-screen, the content goes beyond the TV screen, i.e. the content previously available on TV sets can be "taken away" and accessed by means of tablets or smartphones.

Canal Digital Kabel TVs version of ADB’s Multi-Screen provides a complete solution to provision linear broadcast TV, rich metadata and related services on a variety of consumer electronic devices such as STB-connected TV screens and tablet. ADB’s Multi-Screen ecosystem aids CDK to facilitate different services from multiple network types and deliver them to end-users on their preferred screen.
