8:00 AM -- How can Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. CFO Cathy Meng be so confident that her company will hit its aggressive growth targets in 2011? Let us count the ways:
Huawei's revenues from consumer devices -- mobile phones, dongles, tablets and a range of fixed line home devices such as set-top boxes and broadband gateways -- grew 64 percent year-on-year to US$4.2 billion for the first half of 2011. (See Huawei Hikes Device Sales.)
The company's sales revenues grew 11 percent for the first half of 2011 to US$15.33 billion, giving it an operating profit of US$1.93 billion. (See Huawei Reports H1 2011.)
The Americas are warming up to Huawei. Hey, even Texas's pro-business Governor Rick Perry is a Huawei guy. And as Texas goes, so goes the U.S. Seriously.
