Transformation to IP...and beyond!

The shift to user-centric services
no ratings

Material available for viewing or download may have been prepared before the merger of Alcatel and Lucent Technologies and may not reflect the new Alcatel-Lucent identity.

Operators know that a transformation to IP and IP-based services is inevitable if they are going to survive in today's ultra-competitive market. This is not solely a matter of revenue generation, but a strategy to stave off competition through a focus on new user-centric broadband services:

  • Convergence Services recognize end-users' desire for a simple and consistent experience across services, networks, and devices.

  • Managed Communication Services empower service providers to deliver profitable, high-value services to enterprise customers.

  • User-Centric Triple Play brings a better user experience with communication and entertainment services that are simple, personalized, and predictable.

This shift to user-centric services, however, is forcing operators to rethink the strategy behind their networks and complement this service transformation with a network transformation to a rich, service-aware IP/Ethernet infrastructure. In parallel, Alcatel’s modular IMS/TISPAN-compliant solution brings agile service creation and end-to-end service control, helping operators keep more end-user value in the network.

Carl Rijsbrack, Vice President of Marketing for Alcatel's Fixed Solution Division, explains how Alcatel is the leading partner to the largest network transformations underway today, bringing a wealth of experience to help operators, not only navigate this complex path, but do so with the fastest time-to-market and lowest risk.
