Welcome to another lecture in the GLOBALCOMM 2006 Master Class Series presented by Light Reading in association with the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) .

The Series features the leading minds in telecom services talking in depth about their next-generation networks and the services they carry, emphasizing their real-world experiences of deploying cutting-edge technologies.

In a comprehensive presentation, US LEC SVP Jeffrey Blackey looks at some of the challenges presented by the next-generation network in delivering services and applications to the enterprise and how carriers can help enterprise customers take full advantage of their own network investments.

This presentation also looks at the need for carriers to balance the demands made on an all-IP network by new services utilized by enterprise customers, while maintaining the real-time and critical applications essential to their businesses, and what these new services are.
