There's no doubt that the big play for the Ethernet service providers now is in meeting the specific needs of customers and providing a better experience using back office tools and customer-facing portals. Colt's 'Service Wrap' is one approach but other operators, such as Deutsche Telekom, have also noted that the network technology is not a challenge -- providing and billing for a service that customers want is still the headache.
