I think that some of the ideas that AT&T are suggesting are novel and beneficial in the long run.  I think everyone can see a benefit in increasing connectivity amongst devices that we previously thought impossible (i.e. helping to improve commutes via connected cars, planes, improving medicinal practices and tools, etc.).  However I feel the need to bring up a gripe that I believe many people have with the big orange: their network still doesn't work like it should.  I know that I don't have the service that I pay for entirely too often, and that many people experience similar issues with their surface.  Although it was a few years back, it doesn't bode well either when your CEO blames the issue on people using their devices too much.  I think that AT&T needs to seriously address their current network and tech issues before touting the benefits of the future, if for no other reason than to build back the credibility that they've lost over the past 5 years.
