Looks like Heavy Reading has once again identified an important trend, this one in world sport:

When your goalkeeper says he is "safeguard[ing] the gates to the fatherland," you have to feel confident that your team will be playing as though their survival depends on victory.

The Swedes go for Brazil not because they are glory hunters, oh no. It's because they both wear yellow. There's a natural affinity.

Of the second-tier teams, people in the office are thinking Holland has a reasonable  chance. Mainly because Sneijder, Robben, and Van Persie, is a pretty good front three. And of course Van der Sar in goal.

Weel, Portugal stand a chance if Ronaldo is on fire - thet guy can win games by himself. But Portugal is in a tough opening group with Brazil.

Spain and Argentina are also in with a shout but again they have key players that will need to be fit and playing well -- Torres and Messi respectively.

As per the suggestions on our video - I don't think Poland will be lifting any silverware this summer (nice one Lucas) and as for the Ohio State Buckeyes, well... what is it they do?

I notice the Scandinavian's are all choosing Brazil....

I'm going with the Germans... but I go with that side every World Cup.  But looking forward to some colorful LR banter leading up to the US/England group stage match. JB
