Verimatrix Demos QAM-to-IP Video Security

ORLANDO -- Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, today announced that it has been invited to host a demonstration of its award-winning Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) and ViewRight® solutions at CableLabs' Winter Conference, March 10-13, 2013 in Orlando. The focus of CableLabs' conference demonstrations is to showcase the latest in content and services that operators may employ to serve cable customers for key technical, business, and strategic executives in the cable industry. CableLabs' Winter Conference is a private event open only to cable operators and demonstrating vendors.

At the conference, Verimatrix will demonstrate a complete digital TV security solution for pay-TV services over broadband and hybrid broadcast-IP networks. Often referred to as IP cable or IP-hybrid, the strategy combines the best features of traditional and IP distribution, with the RF (QAM) network used for efficient linear broadcast content and adaptive bit rate (ABR) IP for unicast and on-demand delivery. Verimatrix has won several customers over the years around the world that have taken advantage of this optimized hybrid network approach. The demonstration will highlight how content can be securely distributed inside the home, as part of an integrated service offering, using a combination of advanced set top boxes (STBs) and common CE client devices.
