Velocix Teams Up With P2P Companies

By announcing new strategic partnerships with peer-to-peer (P2P) companies Kontiki and RawFlow , Velocix could gain some business from new customers, including the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) .

Velocix has reached an agreement with Kontiki to become its "preferred CDN partner" for providing hybrid P2P content delivery. It is part of a new initiative aimed at partnering with P2P technology firms called "P2P+".

The move opens up new options for licensees of Kontiki's P2P technology, who previously had to deploy their own infrastructure to host and deliver their content -- or find a CDN to do it for them.
