4:30 PM Prepares to live stream more than 300 hours of tennis
August 27, 2009
4:30 PM -- Today on Contentinople:
The U.S. Open is using several technology firms that range from startup Origin Digital to giant IBM to live stream more than 150 tennis matches online for this year's tournament. That's significantly more than last year, when only the men's final between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick was streamed, because rain postponed it to Monday when viewers would be at work. If last year's streaming garnered 300,000 views with little promotion, how much traffic will stampede onto USOpen.org this year?
Indian online video site BIGFlix has chosen BuyDRM to secure its video content.
And in today's News Bits, Google announces it is adopting the EPUB standard format for its 1 million-strong e-book library.
