UPC Launches Horizon TV in Switzerland

ZURICH, Switzerland -- With effect from 14 January, upc cablecom is launching the new Horizon entertainment platform, combining TV, internet and telephony in one device an innovation in the Swiss market. This is being accompanied by a redesigned upc cablecom product portfolio embracing every area: television, internet and fixed-line telephony. The products are also available as attractive combination deals.

Great TV, ultra-fast internet and attractive fixed-line telephony are now available from only one device in the home. Thanks to Horizon, upc cablecom customers can choose between three combination deals: Horizon Start Combi, Horizon Plus Combi and Horizon Super Combi. Horizon Start Combi is the entry level combination deal featuring the Compact TV channel package, 35 Mbit/s internet and FreePhone Weekend. The Horizon Plus Combi offers the Classic TV channels package, 75 Mbit/s internet and FreePhone Swiss. The highest-performance combination deal is the Horizon Super Combi featuring the Comfort channel package, 150 Mbit/s internet and FreePhone Global. All combination deals are available either with the Horizon HD Recorder or the DigiCard with a WLAN router. All digital products are also available as twin combination deals: television and internet with the Horizon HD Recorder and DigiCard or a combination of internet and fixed-line telephony with a WLAN router.

Television with the Horizon HD Recorder offers not just new functions but a superior performance TV product portfolio in guaranteed HD quality. The new TV channel package is called Compact and comprises more than 70 channels, 23 of them in HD, including Video on Demand with more than 1500 films, series and concerts as well as the replay function (free SRF video portal, MTV series and Nickelodeon). With the Horizon HD Recorder, customers benefit from the simultaneous recording of up to four channels in addition to Live Pause. The TV channel packages Classic (offering more than 115 channels, 25 of them in HD) and Comfort (more than 165 Channels, 35 of them in HD) are still available. As a new feature, Horizon customers can also enjoy TV on their iPad, iPhone and computer. In addition, they can keep up with their favourite channels at any time via the internet or watch Video on Demand films.
