SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Ultraband Fiber Optics Inc., a developer of photonic subsystems for communications equipment suppliers, today revealed that it will begin operating under the new name of Novera Optics, Inc.

"Next generation optical networks are rapidly evolving, providing unprecedented levels of bandwidth and flexibility," said Kirk Flatow, President and CEO of Novera Optics. "Because our company will provide key optical technologies for these advanced networks, we chose a name to reflect this company goal - enabling a new era of communications. It's an appropriate time to launch the new brand now that we have outgrown our start-up facilities and are moving our company operations to a new 55,000 square foot facility in San Jose."
