Transmode Wins Malaysian Deal

March 06, 2013 |
STOCKHOLM and KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Transmode, a global supplier of packet optical networking solutions, today announces that Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd, a leading metro fiber and broadband services provider in Cyberjaya, the cybercity within the Multimedia Super Corridor in Malaysia, has selected Transmode as the optical networking provider for a new MPLS-TP-based network in the region.

The contract will see Transmode supply the company's TM-Series, including the Ethernet Muxponder II (EMXPII) family that supports the recently announced Native Packet Optical 2.0 architecture. The development enables Setia Haruman Technology to deploy new Ethernet services and to boost the capacity and service flexibility of its transport network in a cost-efficient manner. These enhancements will pave the way for Setia Haruman Technology to accelerate the delivery of new intelligent next-generation services to its customers in the business park and the surrounding areas. Cyberjaya is Malaysia's 1st model cybercity within the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia). The MSC Malaysia is a government-designated zone in Malaysia covering 750 square kilometers between Kuala Lumpur International Airport in the south to the Petronas Towers in the north. Designated as a high technology and multimedia investment zone, the area is at the core of the country's National ICT Initiative and includes Cyberjaya, a purpose built IT-themed city. Strategically located to the west of Putrajaya, the new administrative centre of the Government, Cyberjaya is developed as a model intelligent city and the nucleus for the development of MSC Malaysia, a unique greenfield environment within which one can live, study, work and play. "We have chosen Transmode as our preferred optical networking supplier as the company offers a powerful combination of solutions delivering unmatched price/performance and key technical advantages, such as MPLS-TP," said Rodzi Ahmad, General Manager at Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd. "Transmode's outstanding ability to meet our needs combined with its strong local presence and ability to provide us with a differentiated service were also significant factors in our decision. We are confident that Transmode will not only enable us to provide our customers with a superior experience but will also enable us to continue to deliver new services to them in the long term."
