Avago & Corning Team Up

SAN JOSE -- Avago Technologies (Nasdaq:AVGO) and Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced collaboration on new optical cabling connectivity solutions.

Avago Technologies, a world's leading provider of fiber optic components, has developed a series of pluggable transceivers and Atlas optical engines at 40G/100G and beyond, ideally suited for the Ethernet, Storage, and high performance computing applications.

Enabled by Corning ClearCurve OM4 optical fiber and by Corning's Pretium EDGE Solutions, Corning Incorporated has developed a new high-bandwidth optical solution that is ideally suited to applications at 40G/100G and beyond.

Together, Avago and Corning will provide and promote new optical connectivity solutions targeting next-generation networks and data centers.
