FLEET, Hampshire, UK -- Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, announced today that it has introduced several major enhancements to its Propsim F32 LTE-Advanced MIMO radio Channel Emulator. The enhancements enable users to test new 3GPP features (Release 13 and beyond) in multi-mode base stations and mobile devices.

Anite has extended Propsim F32’s frequency range support (up to 6 GHz) which enables users to test mobile devices and network equipment for any LTE or LTE-U (unlicensed LTE) band as well as for WLAN frequencies above 5 GHz.

Propsim F32 now supports testing of all LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation schemes defined by 3GPP (up to five component carriers) with mobility and handovers schemes. The enhancements also allow users to test products for 3D MIMO in 16x8 bi-directional set-ups.

The enhanced Propsim F32 offers the industry’s highest RF output power levels and the widest RF signal dynamic range. This reduces the need for expensive and sizable external RF Power Amplifier Units in MIMO OTA anechoic and reverberation chamber installations. As a result, users are able to minimise test system CAPEX and OPEX whilst maximising productivity.

Paul Beaver, Products Director at Anite says, “This latest product announcement, in particular the 6 GHz extension, enhances the industry-leading Propsim F32 channel emulation solution. Propsim F32 enables Anite’s customers to effectively develop and verify future LTE-Advanced features to deliver the promised 30-fold increase in capacity compared to LTE Release 8.”
