Training center in W. Long Branch, N.J., offers customers and employees hands-on training using Tellium's Aurora OpticalSwitches

OCEANPORT, N.J. -- Tellium, provider of the world's first intelligent optical switches, today announced the opening of its state-of-the-art intelligent optical mesh networking technical training facility for customers, their contractors, and Tellium employees. The technical training center, adjacent to the advanced optics labs in Tellium's new West Long Branch, N.J., facility, offers Tellium's customers hands-on training using Tellium's Aurora Optical Switches(TM). At the center, students will also learn how to use Tellium's StarNet Software Suite(TM) to create, optimize, run, control and provision optical networks.

"In the new optical mesh networking world there is a strong requirement for training and knowledge sharing, and it can make the difference in deploying a successful network," said Richard Barcus, Tellium's president and chief operating officer. "A growing number of customers are requiring technical training, and our professional training group is giving them experience working with Tellium core switches and software."
