STOCKHOLM -- TeliaSonera, one of the largest and most innovative operators in Scandinavia, has chosen ip.access, the leading developer of in-building wireless picocell solutions, to provide the technology to boost indoor cellular coverage for its enterprise customers in Denmark.
The ip.access nanoGSM system has been chosen by TeliaSonera in Denmark as the preferred solution for boosting 2G coverage and capacity in office buildings for its enterprise customers.
The nanoBTS picocell plugs into an office’s existing IP broadband connection, providing a reliable and cost-effective means to immediately improve in-building cellular coverage, and also provides valuable extra bandwidth for workers to use their mobile devices for voice and data.
The improvement provided by the ip.access nanoBTS allows larger numbers of office workers to use their mobile devices for voice calls and also mobile data services, without fear of their call being dropped or the data flow being interrupted. TeliaSonera in Denmark can choose to install an ip.access nanoBTS picocell in the premises of any enterprise customer who requires additional cellular bandwidth for its employees to use mobile voice and data.
ip.access was chosen ahead of other competitive offerings because it had a solution that was both readily available, and which also had a proven pedigree for successfully delivering a reliable and positive service to the end-user. ip.access picocells are used by more than 30 mobile networks worldwide to deliver cellular coverage in buildings and locations where macro network signals cannot penetrate, or where additional network capacity is required.
Commenting on the news, ip.access CEO Stephen Mallinson said, “We are delighted that TeliaSonera in Denmark has chosen ip.access to address the needs of its enterprise customers, when it comes to improving in-building mobile coverage and network capacity.
“TeliaSonera in Denmark’s decision puts us in a prime position in the competitive and highly-advanced Scandinavian cellular market, and also validates our position as a technology innovator and market leader in the burgeoning picocell sector.”
“We were impressed by the ability of ip.access to deliver a reliable, tried and tested solution for in-building coverage,” said Alex Bisgaard Project Manager of TeliaSonera in Denmark. “Their nanoGSM technology addresses the connectivity needs of our enterprise customers when it comes to using their mobile phones indoors. By installing nanoBTS picocells wherever they are needed, we can provide valuable extra capacity and improved performance for voice and data services to our customers, which is in keeping with TeliaSonera in Denmark’s reputation for excellence in mobile service delivery.”
