Tekelec Helps C Spire Get Personal With LTE

February 05, 2013 |
MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- U.S. operator C Spire Wireless is deploying Tekelec’s Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) to deliver personalized services on its LTE network.

The DSR intelligently routes the policy, charging, roaming, authorization, authentication and mobility management messages that enable mobile data services. These messages communicate using the Diameter protocol.

Tekelec has 75 percent to 85 percent share of the Diameter signaling control market, according to industry analyst firm Exact Ventures, including eight North American mobile operators.

“C Spire rapidly rolled out LTE last year, and is architecting a New Diameter Network from the get go,” said Tekelec CTO Doug Suriano. “This allows C Spire to personalize broadband services for both consumers and enterprises.”
