Synacor Signs Content Deals with Two Broadband Providers

Synacor is starting off the new year on a good foot, securing two broadband providers as distributors of its growing online content bundles. Synacor, which now packages free and premium online content from more than 30 sources, will put together bundles for Cincinnati Bell's ZoomTown Plus DSL service and Grande Communications' new Web Premiums offerings. Both companies will use Synacor's Portelus technology platform to supply the content, authentication, provisioning and unified login for their high-speed Internet access customers. ZoomTown ended the third quarter with 123,000 DSL subscribers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana while Grande has an undisclosed number of cable and DSL customers in seven Texas cities.
