MILPITAS, Calif. -- JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU and TSX: JDU) today announced that Belgacom, a leading provider of telecommunications solutions in Belgium, has chosen to implement the JDSU ariesoGEO platform across its Proximus mobile networks in Belgium. Belgacom will use ariesoGEO to plan and optimize its 2G, 3G and LTE networks, to ensure an optimum VIP experience for its mobile users and to enhance management reporting and network visibility.

Belgacom is a leader in mobile coverage with a 2G network that reaches 99.98 percent of the population and a 3G network that reaches 97 percent of the population. Belgacom’s decision to use the ariesoGEO platform was driven by the ease of use and flexibility of the platform, in addition to a strong and existing relationship between Belgacom’s mobile network team and JDSU.

“We are delighted that Belgacom has recognized that the network-wide implementation of the ariesoGEO platform will ensure both multi-layer network optimization and scalable services such as VIP troubleshooting and planning,” said Shirin Dehghan, general manager of the Location Intelligence Business Unit in the Network and Service Enablement business segment at JDSU. “Only a few operators have begun to tackle the challenge of using unique subscriber data across every technology in the network to offer an optimum customer service. By choosing the ariesoGEO platform, Belgacom is demonstrating real leadership in this field.”
