ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- CSG International (NASDAQ: CSGS), a global provider of interactive transaction-driven solutions and services, announces the appointment of Brian Shepherd as executive vice president of CSG International and president of its Global Broadband, Cable and Satellite business.

In this role, Shepherd will focus on accelerating the growth and strategic direction of CSG’s global broadband, cable and direct broadcast satellite business, where CSG has served as a trusted partner to the largest companies in the industry for more than 30 years.

Shepherd brings a wealth of communications industry experience to CSG as well as extensive domestic and international sales, customer and product management and strategy expertise from leadership positions at TeleTech, Amdocs, DST Innovis, and McKinsey & Company. While at Amdocs, Shepherd held senior executive roles leading the company’s Broadband Cable & Satellite, North American Communications and Interactive divisions until becoming a member of the executive management team in 2010, responsible for the company’s broadband cable, financial services, global marketing and corporate strategy and merger and acquisition units. Mr. Shepherd received his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

In this role, Yoo will set the strategic direction for sales and delivery of CSG’s solutions for telco and wireless carriers worldwide, as well as drive profitable growth within existing and new telecom client accounts.

Yoo will align CSG’s products and solutions to create solid operating strategies designed to support revenue and customer management operations for non-cable carriers. Yoo’s strategies will be designed to not only help CSG’s clients as they transform their businesses to support the growth of digital services, but also to expand CSG’s footprint in the telecommunications industry across the globe.

Yoo brings a successful history within CSG as well as wealth of telecommunications industry experience to his new position. He has 29 years of experience in product management, software development, professional services and service delivery, gained with companies such as Ericsson, Comverse, Telcordia and Lucent Technologies.

Most recently, Yoo served as CSG’s senior vice president of global services until he began his new role with CSG International, effectively immediately.

Both leaders will begin their new roles on March 1, 2016.

CSG built a solid working relationship with Marwan Fawaz during his time as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Motorola Mobility, and as the executive vice president of strategy and operations and chief technology officer at Charter Communications, one of CSG’s longest-standing client relationships.

With more than 25 years of experience in the media, cable, telecommunications and broadband industries, Fawaz will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to CSG’s board of directors, developed from his time at Charter as well as executive roles at Google/Motorola Mobility, Adelphia Communications and MediaOne, among others.

”Marwan Fawaz has first-hand knowledge of the inner workings and needs of CSG’s strategic markets, and he will bring an insider’s perspective that will help CSG align to address the challenges that these dynamic industries face,” said Don Reed, chairman of CSG International’s board of directors.

Currently, Fawaz is a board member of Synacor and an advisory board member of ADT, Liberty Global and Guavus, in addition to founder and principal of Sarepta Advisors, a strategic advisory and consulting group supporting the technology, media and telecommunications industries.

In addition, Ken Kennedy, CSG’s current chief technology officer and senior vice president of product management, development and operations, will become the executive vice president of product development. His promotion is in recognition of his work to define CSG’s technology roadmap and align the company’s technical vision with its business strategy. Kennedy has managed CSG’s software development organization and has had responsibility for various aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives related to CSG’s product offerings over the past 10 years.
