Vodafone Launches Low-Cost Androids

LISBON -- Vodafone Portugal has launched two new smartphones with the Android operating system: the Vodafone 845 and the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro.

The Vodafone 845 is the first Vodafone branded smartphone with the Android operating system and costs €134.90, the most competitive price in the Portuguese market. This 3.5G phone with Android and Vodafone 360 services provides access to the Internet and the 'Android Market' online shop, where users can obtain apps to improve the phone’s potential. The Vodafone 845 has a 2.8 inch touchscreen, GPS module, 3.2 megapixel camera and WiFi connectivity.

The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro is a compact, slide-format smartphone with Android OS and QWERTY keyboard. Available for €229.90, the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro has a 2.5 inch touchscreen, camera, 5.0 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording, MP3 player integration with Facebook, email, instant messaging and several connectivity options: Bluetooth, Micro USB and WiFi. It also provides access to Vodafone 360 services and Android Market.
